Digital Paintings – Catch-All
Presented here is a selection of general interest digital paintings that I call “Catch-All.” Digital paintings that didn’t fit in another gallery. Images include montages, graphic illustrations.
All the digital paintings on this webpage are created in Adobe Photoshop. Using Adobe Photoshop image editing software, I enjoy creating a composite, montage, or graphic illustration digital images to illustrate a theme. One of my favorite themes is Americana. Many of my friends from High School and collage are written on the Viet Nam Memorial. Using a combination of digital paintings and multiple image montage, I created a composite I call “Memorial Day” in their honor. As a member of The Unitarian Universalist, the Challis represents that religion. At the end of the runway at Washington National Airport is Gravely Point where you can watch airplanes taking off and land. Planes are perfect subjects for a graphic background. The sun is a powerful light source.
Some images are based on photographs. Once I have a suitable photograph, it becomes the base layer for the digital painting. Other digital paintings are drawn “freehand.”
