Digital Painting – People
Presented here is a selection of digital paintings of people. These are part of my ongoing “People Portraits” series of digital paintings, exploring the different aspects of the human experience. Over the years I have employed many portrait painting techniques. I have created digital paintings that emulate watercolor, oil, acrylic, charcoal, and pastel paintings. That is one of the benefits of digital painting. I
‘m not limited to any specific painting style. I can pick the best style for subject.
Since I started as a photographer, photographs often become the base layer of my digital portrait paintings. I follow the painter rule that portrait paintings is an artistic representation of a specific person, focusing on capturing their likeness, character, and form.
All the digital paintings are created in Adobe Photoshop. The People Portraits on this webpage are people I found on my travels. Friends and family are frequently subjects for my digital portrait paintings. Most images are based on photographs. Once I have a suitable photograph of my subject, it becomes the base layer for the digital painting. Some digital paintings include an outline of the reference photo as a guide. The remainder of the digital painting is drawn “freehand”
