Digital Painting – Landscape
Presented here is a selection of digital paintings of landscape images. These images are part of my ongoing “Landscape” series of digital paintings, exploring the different aspects of world around us. The subject matter can be diverse, such as a city skyline, a mountain range, or a golf hole; a good landscape photograph shows the landscape to its best advantage. Stopping the reader long enough to take a second glance or spend a few seconds reading the accompanying article or advertisement would be a good reward.
All the digital paintings are created in Adobe Photoshop. Some images are based on photographs. Other digital paintings are drawn “freehand.”
Creating such an image always helps if you start with something easy on the eye. A photographer friend once paraphrased an old Ansel Adams quote, “You don’t take a photograph. Mother Nature did the hard part. All you have to do is make it.” She takes a combination of elements with creative landscape shaping to create a visually interesting landscape. My job is to use those elements to create an interesting digital painting.
