Presented here is a selection of my digital paintings where the subject is birds. These digital paintings are part of my ongoing “Animals – Birds” series. Where I explore the different aspects of our fine-feathered friends. There are some 800 varieties of North American bird species. Add to that a number of other birds from around the world provides a wide canvas for my artistic creativities. Life is interconnected. Many North American birds feed insects to their young. And insects need native plants to thrive. It’s mother nature’s way of population control.

 All the digital paintings are created in Adobe Photoshop. The birds on this webpage are ones I found on my travels. I’m often drawn to a specific bird because of their colors or sounds. For example, the Red feathers of the male Cardinal, the Pink Flamingo, or the Jamaican Doctor Bird have become subjects for my digital paintings. Some images are based on photographs. Once I have a suitable photograph, it becomes the base layer for the digital painting. Other digital paintings are drawn “freehand.”
