This year’s 2021 Digital Painting Calendar selection comprised of digital photo-painted landscapes, some of which are based on the late Bob Ross paintings – the most under-rated landscape painter in America. This series is a tribute to a master oil-based landscape painter.
These digital photo-paintings contained in the 2021 Digital Painting Calendar was created using Adobe Photoshop and by watching Bob Ross “Joy of Painting” TV programs. Although he died 25 years ago (click to see my profile of Bob Ross in Professional Artist Magazine), the programs are still shown on my local PBS station every week. I’ve also found many shows on YouTube.
The cover is a perfect example of my using a Bob Ross painting as a reference image. With the title, “After Sunset Cabin” I saturated the colors to enhance the image.
